What I Discovered About The Kids While In Mexico
My sweet babies, you are both so inquisitive about the world around you, always asking questions, always seeking truth. You are finding your voice and learning how how to navigate changes, boundaries.
You are missing friends and family and that can be hard to navigate. Our whole family is learning that when God calls you to leave “ houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers for my sake….”
[Matthew 19:29 ] listening is always the best choice even if its hard.
When I quietly peer through the window into your days, I see you helping each other. Learning to skateboard, assisting each other with school work, giggling till it hurts, speaking Spanish to vendors, making so many new friends, welcoming new neighbours by baking cookies, empathetically caring for animals you encounter, swimming in the ocean and building sandcastle. Watching how you volunteer every week even though you don’t know the language fully, but seeing how you interact with all these children and jump in as if you’ve know them all your life, is so beautiful. Everyday I am delighted by something new you discover and learn, and simply watching you explore this new “world’ is precious to me.
Your footsteps in the sand are my heartbeats, my hope is that you keep walking toward truth staying on the narrow path, while finding the refreshing spots of shade along the way and the thirst quenching spring of life.
You are my greatest achievements
