Even In The Face Of Great Abuse
A dear friend sent me a deeply impactful song. As we unpack this song, I will share what the Holy Spirit spoke to me [Song link below].
Some of the Lyrics are “Blessed are the ones who walk in kindness, even in the face of great abuse”
We have all been in situations where someone has treated us poorly. Cancel culture tells us to cut them off immediately. Why are we so quick to sever the relational cord?
This song based on the Beatitudes says, that not just poor treatment, but even in great abuse, if you choose to walk in kindness the Kingdom belongs to these people.
How do we walk in kindness while protecting our hearts and maintaining healthy boundaries, even in the face of great abuse?
I heard the whisper of the Holy Spirit.
“Your battle is not against flesh and blood but against the authorities and spiritual forces of evil. (Ephesians 6:12)
This puts everything into perspective for me.
When we gain a heavenly perspective of what we face every day, things become simple, not easy by any means, but knowing what to do is simple.
We Love.
We all fall short. Out of hurt, loneliness or anger, we have all said and done things and have had things done to us by people who we love and care for.
I believe change starts with shifting our mindset from “cut the relationship that’s not serving me to “how can I serve the relationships that are not serving me?”
May these words wash over you, and if you can relate to the marginalized in this song, I pray that you can find forgiveness, healing and kindness in your heart again.

Common Hymnal | The Kingdom Is Yours | JonCarlos Velez, Jamie MacDonald & Dee Wilson
Blessed are the ones who do not burry all the broken pieces of their heart
Blessed are the tears of all the weary pouring like a sky of fallen stars
Blessed the wounded ones who are in mourning Brave enough to show the Lord their scars
Blessed are the hurts that are not healing open to the healing touch of God.
The Kingdom is yours
Hold on a little more this is not the end, Hope is in the Lord, Keep your eyes on Him
Blessed are the ones who walk in Kindness even in the face of great abuse
Blessed are the deeds that go unnoticed Serving with unguarded gratitude
Blessed are the one who fight for justice Longing for the calming day of peace
Blessed is the soul that thirsts for righteousness Welcoming the Last, the Lost the least
The Kingdom is yours, Hold on a little more this is not the end, Hope is in the Lord Keep your eyes on Him.
